When children show developmental differences or challenges, early identification and intervention is key. Sometimes families simply need a quick assessment to determine if their toddler meets diagnostic criteria for Autism in order to access services as soon as possible. These Toddler Diagnostics are designed to be efficient in order to get your child on our calendar and assessed more quickly.
-
A 1-hour interview with parents (Typically over video chat). In this session we want to hear about your child’s unique strengths and challenges. We’ll also go through a clinical interview to gather information on all areas of development including early cognitive skills, motor skills, language, play and social skills, emotional and behavioral regulation, and adaptive skills (e.g., toilet training, sleep).
-
A 2-hour session in office. This will include around 60-90 minutes of testing as well as 30-60 minutes for immediate feedback and recommendations. Testing includes the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) and pieces of developmental evaluations.
-
A comprehensive report. We document the pieces of the evaluation in a report that can be shared with school, providers, and/or anyone in the child’s life who may find it helpful. Parents are in charge of this report and who to send it to.
